Camping Regulations
Traditionally, our pack will family camp 2-3 times per year. When we do camp, it is a family outing, in other words, bring the whole crew! If only mom or dad attend, this is okay too. However, we must make this clear; In Cub Scouting, there must be a parent with the cub scout at all times as far as camping is concerned. A parent must spend the night with the scout. This is a BSA safe scouting regulation from which we do not deviate. Our camping is very casual yet designed to teach the boys something each time we do go out.
Please do not feel awkward if you do not have camping gear. Our pack is outfitted with a fair amount of gear. The pack currently owns 11 waterproof tents, stove, lantern, water jugs, coolers, and a ton of miscellaneous supplies and other equipment. Of course, personal camping gear will be needed. But do not let this worry you. We will cross that bridge when we get to it.
Rules to remember regarding our camping:
- A parent or guardian must accompany scouts on a campout. NO deviation from this rule, so don't ask!
- All campers will follow pack lists given prior to outings. These lists are given for safety and performance reasons, do not deviate from them.
- ONLY scouts that have their Whittling Chip card may carry a pocket knife to a campout or on a hike.
- Scouts will follow all instructions given them by leaders.
- Proper BSA fire safety will be followed and maintainded at all times. Scouts not adhering to safe fire guidelines will not be allowed to participate in campfires.
- Discipline problems on outings will be dealt with in a swift and strict manner.
- Just remember, the safety of our scouts is our first concern when we camp or hike.
